Exploring 1800s Lead Mine

OOur original intent was to ROUV the lower passages of this mine via a flooded winze. Upon arrival we found that the winze had been covered with logs and rocks long ago. Following our visit we found an article about a young girl who had disappeared in the area in the 1800s. It was suspect that she fell into the winze. We suspect they sealed the winze to prevent this from happening again.

Our visit to the mine was not a complete loss. We were able to explore the mine and discover many artifacts in excellent condition. We also were able to LIDAR map the mine. We hope to do a return visit to find if there is any way possible to get the ROUV through a small gap we in the covering over the winze, we spied during our visit.

Additional Info

LIDAR scanned the mine to be close to 400' long and the highest point in the stope was 50'+ tall.
